A day after the BJP sealed an alliance with Apna Dal (Soneylal) leader Anupriya Patel by giving her party two Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress on Saturday tied up with Anupriya’s mother Krishna Patel and reserved two seats for her party Apna Dal in the state. The alliance between the Congress and Apna Dal was finalised at a meeting in Delhi at the residence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, where Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Jyotiraditya Scindia finalised the deal in the presence of Apna Dal president Krishna Patel and party general secretary Pankaj Niranjan Singh Chandel.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Highlights: Dayanidhi Maran, A Raja, Kanimozhi Among Dmk’s 20 Candidates
DMK on Sunday announced former union ministers Dayanidhi Maran, A Raja and T R Baalu and its Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi among its candidates for the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies it is contesting in Tamil Nadu. Releasing the list of candidates, which included 13 new faces, party president M K Stalin said Maran will contest from Central Chennai, A Raja from Nilgiris (SC) and T R Baalu from Sriperumbudur constituencies.

Meanwhile, the BJP released its list of candidates for the assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu will contest polls from Mukto, his home constituency in Tawang district, bordering China.
